Word of the Day

As contributed by Chris:

Manna, n. A food miraculously given to the Israelites in the wilderness. When it was no longer supplied to them they settled down and tilled the soil, fertilizing it, as a rule, with the bodies of the original occupants.

  1. We should have a logical fallacy of the day, too (see Lincoln’s blog).

What’s the entry on “insanity”? We (very appropriately) discussed it in crimlaw today and I think most of us are wondering what we can get away with, considering we are law students at finals time.

  2. I’ll look it up when I get home, and post “insanity” tomorrow. Stay tuned, everybody…

  3. I have heard that the definiton of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Not sure if that is how he defines it, but I think that’s a salient definition.

  4. Unless, of course, you’re trying to get something done on a recalcitrant computer, in which cases the best recourse is often simple repetition. 3-6 blows with a good hammer should do the trick.

  5. Nah–with a computer one should eventually do something different. Toss the entire thing out the window, possible with a few choice words.
