I. HATE. PORN.
I really, really do. Today the mail brought an innocent looking envelope that disgorged a pile of filthy ads into my lap. I didn’t ask for it. I didn’t want to see it. And I sure as anything didn’t want it in my home. And I’m not talking about just skimpy pictures–I’m talking about really nasty, explicit stuff.
Normally, for me, prornography is kind of an abstract question. It’s easy for me to say that it’s bad and go on my way. But today, it came right into my home and slapped me in the face. It’s so exploitative! It exploits the very worst instincts in men and women. It devalues men and women. We become nothing more than a collection of sexual (or sexualized) parts. It’s a filthy perversion of something that God created to be beautiful and good.
I’m not a big fan of censorship, but I have a hard time with porn being legal. I really do. I understand in theory why it can’t be made illegal, but deep down in my soul, I. hate. it.
Two in a row July 21, 2008
I know, I know. Can’t I come up with anything original of my own to post? Maybe. But right now my carpal tunnel is preventing me from spending more than a bare minimum of time typing, so this will have to do. Besides, it’s too good to pass up.

Once again, thanks to www.xkcd.com.
I’m not making any announcements or anything… July 16, 2008
But this is a fairly good expression of our current state of mind regarding children.

Found amid the usual brilliance of www.xkcd.com.
Pictures! July 7, 2008
I have so many pictures to post! Pictures of the new house, the new paint, the gardens–flower and vegetable, my hubby and I… And I’ve been so remiss about posting. But here is my beginning!
Chris and I have bought a house!! It’s so tremendously exciting. God provided us with a beautiful little condo on the south side of Charlotte. It’s in a great area, close to just about everything we need, and only about 25 minutes from both our jobs. We’re about 20 minutes from the church we’ve been attending since last fall.
Here’s the front:
And the foyer:
The stair: (You can see the doors to the two upstairs bedrooms in this picture. There’s a full bath with a walk in closet and two sinks that joins the two rooms. Underneath the stair, you can see a door that leads to a third bedroom with it’s own full bath.)
The living room:
The table side of the kitchen:
And the kitchen side:
Here’s our patio. It’s all filled up with vegetables now, and plants that are waiting to go into the ground, but I haven’t taken a picture of it yet.
